Dr. Ilia Gur, MD, FACS

Dr. Ilia Gur is a board-certified hepatobiliary, pancreatic, and general surgeon with over a decade of experience in advanced surgical care, academic teaching, and program development. A graduate of the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, where he earned his M.D. cum laude, Dr. Gur completed surgical residency training across top-tier U.S. institutions, culminating in a fellowship in Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery at Oregon Health & Science University.
As a core faculty member at San Joaquin General Hospital, Dr. Gur developed a leading HPB surgery program and integrated robotic surgery into resident training. He is widely published, a frequent presenter at national surgical conferences, and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He has presented extensively at national surgical conferences and has multiple peer-reviewed publications in vascular, oncologic, and HPB surgery.
Dr. Gur is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and an active member of the AHPBA and SSO. Fluent in English, Hebrew, and Russian, he brings a culturally sensitive approach to patient care. Outside of medicine, he is passionate about photography, cycling, and exploring the outdoors.
